This school is based in Dubai, UAE and is looking for a Learning Support Practitioner – Primary.

Position Overview: Sunmarke School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Practitioner (LSP) to join our Primary School team. The LSP will work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support the learning and development of primary school students who may need additional assistance. The successful candidate will provide individualized support, create a nurturing learning environment, and help students achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to primary school students with special educational needs (SEN) or learning difficulties.
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs.
  • Support classroom teachers in delivering differentiated instruction and inclusive learning activities.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes the social and emotional development of all students.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to engage students and support their learning.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and other professionals to develop and implement effective support strategies.
  • Assist with the assessment of students’ needs and the development of appropriate learning materials.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in primary education and learning support.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all students during school activities.

 

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Diploma or degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field.
  • Previous experience working with primary school students in an educational setting, preferably within an international school.
  • Knowledge of child development and learning support strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with young children.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

 

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in an international school setting.
  • Knowledge of the primary school curriculum and inclusive education practices.
  • Training in SEN and inclusive education practices.
  • Proficiency in using educational technology and resources.
