Role Overview: Learning Support Teacher
As a Learning Support Teacher, you will provide individualized and small-group support to students with a variety of learning needs. Your work will ensure that every student receives the guidance, strategies, and encouragement necessary to reach their full academic potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Support students with learning differences in mainstream and pull-out settings
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with teachers to differentiate instruction and modify curriculum
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
- Communicate regularly with families and staff to support learning goals
- Create an inclusive, supportive classroom environment
- Contribute to student well-being and academic confidence
- Participate in professional development and whole-school initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education, Learning Support, or related field
- Valid teaching certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in an international school
- Familiarity with international curricula such as IB, Cambridge, or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of differentiated instruction and learning accommodations
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- Ability to collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff
- Skilled in using educational technology to enhance learning
