Role: Learning Support Teacher

The Learning Support Teacher plays a critical role in providing tailored educational strategies and interventions for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). You will work closely with classroom teachers, parents, and external specialists to ensure every student receives the support they need to thrive academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement personalised intervention strategies that build confidence and address individual learning challenges
• Develop and manage Individualised Educational Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with teaching staff
• Maintain strong communication with parents to support each child’s progress
• Coordinate with external specialists, including educational psychologists, speech and language therapists, and occupational therapists
• Identify and report safeguarding concerns to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field
• Postgraduate qualification in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience supporting students with SEND
• Proficiency in developing inclusive teaching practices
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse school community
• High level of proficiency in spoken and written English
• Strong classroom management and a commitment to continuous learning
