Role Overview

The ideal candidate is a motivated and experienced individual to fill the role of Learning Support Teacher. This specialist position demands a dedicated educator who can effectively design, manage, and deliver individualized support.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and teach highly individualized lessons and specialized interventions based on student IEP goals.
• Develop and execute engaging, standards-aligned interventions across literacy, numeracy, executive function, and social-emotional areas.
• Conduct necessary academic assessments and contribute to multidisciplinary teams for initial evaluations and re-evaluations.
• Collaborate consistently with general education teachers to co-plan differentiated lessons and model inclusive teaching strategies aligned with CCSS/NGSS.
• Maintain accurate and compliant student records and track progress against IEP objectives meticulously.
• Communicate effectively and regularly with parents about student needs, progress, and effective home strategies.
• Be independent, self-motivated, and proactive in enriching the Learning Support program and developing wider school initiatives related to inclusion and well-being.
• Ability to use new technologies and specialized software to enhance the quality of teaching and learning for students with disabilities.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and parents, and to build strong relationships with all members of the school community.

Qualification

• Education: Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education, Learning Support, or a closely related field.
• Certification: Possess a valid teaching license or official certification (e.g., US State Special Education License, QTS/SEN specialist certification, or equivalent) specifically for Special Education.
• Experience: Demonstrate a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience working as a credentialed Special Education or Learning Support Teacher, with significant, verified experience developing and managing IEPs within an American or international school context being mandatory.
• Curriculum Knowledge: Show strong, demonstrated knowledge of effective instructional strategies for diverse learners and the ability to align support with the American standards-based curriculum (CCSS/NGSS/AP).
• Skills: Maintain excellent classroom management, strong organizational abilities, and superb communication and collaboration skills.
• Language: Be highly proficient in spoken and written English.
