Teacher Librarian (Grade 1 to 5)

This school is based in Singapore, Singapore and is looking for a Teacher Librarian (Grade 1 to 5)

The Elementary School is seeking applications from enthusiastic, qualified Teachers with a degree in Education for a Teacher Librarian position (Grades 1 to 5) starting 2 January 2024. Experience and knowledge of the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) and experience with macOS would be an advantage.

Position requirements:

• International Primary Curriculum (IPC) experience preferred.
• Establish, develop and maintain the smooth operations of the school library.
• Ability to teach library, research and literacy skills to mainstream and EAL classes ranging from Grades 1 to 5.
• Create a visually exciting and vibrant library environment to promote and enhance literacy in our school community.
• Ensure that the library is equipped with up to date books, resources and other materials.
• Organise special events such as Book Week, author visits and other library related initiatives.
• Proficiency in using educational technology.
• International School teaching experience is required.
• Experience teaching English second language learners is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, time management and adaptability.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team and participate in the wider school community.
• Good references on request.

Qualifications:

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Primary Education is required.
• Library qualifications is preferred.
• Professional current teaching certification is required.
