Established in 1981, Mountainview Christian School is a respected international Christian school serving K–12 students in Salatiga, Central Java. MCS provides an American-based curriculum within a Christ-centered learning environment, designed to support the academic, spiritual, and personal growth of its diverse student body.
MCS serves both boarding and day students, primarily the children of expatriates involved in missions, humanitarian work, and other service-oriented fields. The school enrolls approximately 230 students from a wide range of nationalities and backgrounds. Our semi-rural campus includes modern classrooms, playgrounds, and family-style dormitories for students in grades 7–12.

Role Overview: Lower Elementary Teacher
As a Lower Elementary Teacher, you will design and deliver engaging lessons that build foundational literacy, numeracy, and critical thinking skills. You will cultivate a nurturing classroom environment that supports academic achievement and emotional development. Collaboration with colleagues, ongoing assessment, and clear communication with parents will ensure student success and growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Elementary Education or a related field
- Valid teaching license or certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- At least two years of experience teaching in early or lower elementary settings
- Strong understanding of child development and differentiated instruction
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- High proficiency in spoken and written English
- Self-motivated and proactive in contributing to curriculum development and school initiatives
- Enthusiastic about working in a diverse, international Christian school community
- Ability to integrate technology to enhance learning
