Role Overview: Lower Secondary English Teacher
As a Lower Secondary English Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging English lessons to students in Years 7 to 9. Your teaching will foster literacy, analytical thinking, and a lifelong appreciation for language and literature. You will also help students prepare for Cambridge Checkpoint assessments and ensure a strong foundation for future IGCSE English success.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver lessons aligned with the Cambridge Lower Secondary English curriculum
- Promote reading comprehension, writing fluency, and spoken English through interactive, student-centered strategies
- Assess student progress regularly and provide timely feedback
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum integration and instructional quality
- Support school events, co-curricular activities, and wider community engagement
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Education, or a related field
- Teaching license or certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum 3 years of English teaching experience at the lower secondary level
- Familiarity with the Cambridge curriculum or other international programmes
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- Strong proficiency in written and spoken English
- Commitment to professional growth and student-centered teaching
