STEAM Teacher – High School Students, The American School In Switzerland, Switzerland

This school is based in Lugano, Switzerland and is looking for a STEAM Teacher – High School Students.

The TASIS High School summer program is seeking a dynamic STEAM teacher to lead a general course for students aged 14–17. This comprehensive course integrates Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math to foster creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. The curriculum combines theoretical knowledge with hands-on practical work and activities to engage and inspire students’ curiosity.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver engaging and interactive STEAM lessons that encompass a wide range of topics, including Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math.
• Incorporate hands-on experiments, projects, and activities to facilitate active learning and exploration of STEAM concepts.
• Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions, experiment, and collaborate with their peers.
• Provide individualized support and feedback to students to enhance their understanding and mastery of STEAM concepts.
• Collaborate with program staff to plan and organize weekend excursions throughout Switzerland, France, and Italy, providing students with enriching cultural experiences.
• Participate in program-related duties and activities as assigned.

Requirements:

• A certificate or degree in education or science is preferred.
• Proficiency in English is required.
• EU passport or valid work permit for Switzerland is required.
• Experience in an educational setting is preferred but not necessary.
• Enthusiasm for STEAM education and a passion for inspiring students’ curiosity and creativity.
