Middle School Math Teacher, Eastwood International School, Lebanon

This school is based in Mansourieh El Metn, Lebanon and is looking for a Middle School Math Teacher. 

Eastwood International School is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Middle School Math Teacher for the 2024/25 academic year. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality math instruction to students in grades 6-8, fostering a positive learning environment, and supporting students’ academic growth and development.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching and Curriculum Implementation:

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging math lessons that align with the school’s curriculum and educational standards.
• Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and resources to support diverse learners and promote mathematical understanding.
• Integrate technology and hands-on activities to enhance student learning and engagement.

Student Assessment and Support:

• Assess and monitor students’ progress through formative and summative assessments.
• Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to support their academic growth.
• Identify and address individual learning needs, offering additional support or enrichment as necessary.

Classroom Management:

• Establish and maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-organized classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Implement effective classroom management strategies to ensure a respectful and productive learning atmosphere.
• Foster a growth mindset and encourage students to take ownership of their learning.

Professional Development:

• Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in math education.
• Collaborate with colleagues to share ideas, resources, and instructional strategies.
• Continuously reflect on and improve teaching practices.

Parental and Community Engagement:

• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about students’ progress, classroom activities, and upcoming events.
• Participate in parent-teacher conferences, school events, and extracurricular activities to build strong relationships with families and the school community.
• Engage with the school community to promote a positive and collaborative learning environment.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
• Teaching diploma or certification in secondary education.
• Proven experience teaching math at the middle school level.
• Strong understanding of middle school math concepts and pedagogy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Fluent in English; proficiency in Arabic is an asset.
