Role Overview

The ideal candidate is a motivated and experienced individual to fill the role of Middle/High School Science Teacher. This specialist position demands a dedicated educator who can effectively design, manage, and deliver engaging, high-standard instruction.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and teach high-quality, rigorous Middle and High School Science courses, focusing heavily on NGSS practices and AP standards.
• Develop and execute engaging lessons that promote scientific and engineering practices, encouraging students to ask questions, design experiments, and construct explanations.
• Manage and supervise practical laboratory sessions safely and effectively. Maintain high standards of laboratory organization and safety compliance.
• Assess student progress consistently using formative and summative tools relevant to the subject and NGSS/AP standards. Provide timely, individualized, and constructive feedback to drive measurable improvement in both theory and practical skills.
• Collaborate consistently with Secondary Science colleagues and department leadership on curriculum vertical alignment, resource development, and tracking student university readiness.
• Maintain a positive, highly organized, and professional classroom environment conducive to active learning and intellectual rigor.
• Be independent, self-motivated, and proactive in enriching the curriculum and developing wider school initiatives, such as leading a Science club, STEM competition team, or academic mentoring (CCAs).
• Ability to use new technologies to enhance the quality of teaching and learning for all students.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and parents, and to build strong relationships with the school community.

Qualification

• Education: Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a core Science field (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Integrated Science) or Science Education.
• Certification: Possess a valid teaching license or official certification (e.g., US State License, QTS, PGCE, or equivalent) specifically for Secondary/High School Science teaching.
• Experience: Demonstrate a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience teaching Secondary Science, with significant, verified experience teaching the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and/or Advanced Placement (AP) Science curriculum being mandatory.
• Curriculum Knowledge: Show strong, demonstrated knowledge of NGSS and AP Science content and the rigorous expectations of the American standards-based system.
• Skills: Maintain excellent laboratory management skills, ensure high safety standards, and exhibit superb communication and collaboration skills.
• Language: Be highly proficient in spoken and written English.
