Role Overview: Middle School ELL Teacher
As a Middle School ELL Teacher at ICS, you will support students whose first language is not English. You will plan and deliver engaging lessons that build reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills, aligned with grade-level academic content. You will collaborate closely with classroom teachers to support language access and student success.
Responsibilities
- Deliver structured ELL instruction to middle school students
- Develop lesson plans that support language acquisition and content mastery
- Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
- Collaborate with subject teachers to integrate language strategies across curricula
- Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers
- Contribute to the spiritual and character development of students
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in TESOL, Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- At least 3 years of relevant teaching experience
- Strong knowledge of second language acquisition and ESL methodologies
- Familiarity with international or American-based school curricula
- Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills
- Proficient in integrating technology into teaching and learning
- Passion for serving in a diverse Christian school community
