Role Overview
The Middle School Mathematics Teacher will teach math courses for Grades 6–8, covering topics such as algebra, geometry, and problem-solving strategies. This role requires creating engaging lessons, fostering a growth mindset, and equipping students with skills that prepare them for higher-level math. Teachers at GCA also participate in school activities, collaborate with colleagues, and integrate Christian values into their teaching practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach middle school mathematics aligned with the U.S. curriculum
- Design lessons that promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and application of concepts
- Assess and monitor student progress with constructive feedback
- Collaborate with fellow teachers on curriculum planning and cross-disciplinary initiatives
- Support student development through mentorship and extracurricular involvement
- Build positive relationships with students, parents, and the wider school community
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching license or certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum of three years of teaching experience, ideally in an international or middle school setting
- Strong knowledge of middle school mathematics curriculum and pedagogy
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- High proficiency in spoken and written English
- Commitment to professional growth and Christian education
