Role Overview
The Middle School Music Teacher will guide students in exploring music as a form of expression, creativity, and cultural understanding. This role requires a teacher who can create engaging lessons that build musical skills in performance, theory, and appreciation, while also encouraging collaboration and confidence in young musicians.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach middle school music classes, including vocal and instrumental instruction
- Develop engaging lessons that foster creativity, performance, and music appreciation
- Organize concerts, performances, and school-wide music events
- Encourage students to explore diverse musical traditions and genres
- Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments
- Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects and curriculum design
- Promote a supportive, inclusive classroom environment
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Music, Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience, preferably in an international school setting
- Strong knowledge of music education and performance techniques
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to integrate technology into music instruction
- Commitment to professional growth and innovative teaching practices
- Fluency in spoken and written English
