Role Overview
The Middle School Music Teacher will lead engaging lessons in vocal and instrumental music, performance, and music theory. The role requires inspiring students to explore musical expression, develop technical skills, and collaborate in ensembles or productions. The teacher will integrate innovative teaching practices and technology to enrich the music curriculum while actively participating in the school’s arts program and community events.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach middle school music classes, including vocal, instrumental, and general music
- Prepare students for concerts, performances, and special events
- Encourage creativity, collaboration, and confidence in music-making
- Assess and track student progress to support individual growth
- Collaborate with colleagues on cross-curricular projects and performances
- Contribute to the broader life of the school through clubs and activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Music or Music Education
- Valid teaching certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum three years of teaching experience, preferably in middle school or international settings
- Strong knowledge of music instruction, performance, and curriculum design
- Effective classroom management and strong communication skills
- Enthusiasm for working in a diverse international school community
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
- Commitment to professional growth and innovation in teaching
