Role Overview
As a Middle School Music Teacher, you will foster a love of music while helping students develop practical skills in performance, composition, and music appreciation. You will create engaging lessons that integrate traditional and modern approaches to music education, encourage creativity, and support the personal growth of each student.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver a comprehensive music program aligned with international standards
- Teach music theory, performance, and appreciation across middle school grades
- Inspire students to participate in school concerts, ensembles, and performances
- Integrate technology and innovative methods into music instruction
- Collaborate with colleagues to support cross-curricular learning initiatives
- Contribute to extracurricular activities and the wider arts program at APIS
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Music, Music Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching license or certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- At least three years of music teaching experience, preferably in an international school setting
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Proficiency in both vocal and instrumental instruction preferred
- Enthusiasm for teaching in a diverse, multicultural environment
- Commitment to professional growth and collaborative teaching practices
- Highly proficient in spoken and written English
