French Teacher – Elementary School Students, The American School In Switzerland, Switzerland

This school is based in Lugano, Switzerland and is looking for an French Teacher – Elementary School Students.

Le Château des Enfants program (ages 7-10) at The American School In Switzerland (TASIS) is seeking a passionate French teacher to instruct elementary school students in basic French language skills. This comprehensive course covers speaking, writing, grammar, French culture, and incorporates special STEAM activities to engage young learners.

Responsibilities:

• Teach basic French language skills to elementary school students (ages 7-10) in an interactive and engaging manner.
• Develop and implement creative lessons that incorporate speaking, writing, grammar, and cultural components to foster language proficiency.
• Integrate special STEAM activities (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) into the curriculum to enhance language learning and exploration.
• Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to language acquisition and academic growth.
• Assess student progress and provide timely feedback to support individual learning needs.
• Collaborate with program staff to plan and organize weekend excursions throughout Switzerland, France, and Italy, enriching students’ cultural experiences.
• Participate in program-related duties and activities as assigned.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in the French language is essential.
• A certificate or degree in elementary education is preferred.
• EU passport or valid work permit for Switzerland is required.
• Experience in an educational setting is preferred but not necessary.
• Willingness to travel and chaperone students on weekend excursions.
