This school is based in Dubai, UAE and is looking for a Secondary Spanish Teacher.

Position Overview: Sunmarke School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Secondary Spanish Teacher to join our vibrant team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Spanish language instruction and a commitment to providing high-quality education to secondary students. The Secondary Spanish Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons, fostering a positive learning environment, and promoting students’ proficiency in Spanish language and culture.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver dynamic Spanish language lessons that cater to the needs of secondary students, in alignment with curriculum standards.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel motivated to learn and participate actively.
  • Use a variety of teaching strategies, resources, and technology to enhance students’ language acquisition skills.
  • Assess and monitor students’ progress regularly, providing constructive feedback to support their academic development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and activities that integrate Spanish language and culture.
  • Organize and participate in extracurricular activities, such as language clubs or cultural events, to enrich students’ learning experiences.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding students’ progress, achievements, and areas for improvement.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other relevant information.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, professional development sessions, and school events as required.
  • Adhere to school policies and procedures, promoting a positive and inclusive school culture.

 

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Spanish Language, Education, or a related field. A teaching certification is preferred.
  • Proven experience teaching Spanish language at the secondary level, ideally in an international school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of Spanish language proficiency levels (CEFR) and ability to differentiate instruction accordingly.
  • Familiarity with modern teaching methodologies, educational technology, and resources for language instruction.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Spanish, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to inspire and engage secondary students in their language learning journey.
  • Effective classroom management skills and a passion for promoting cultural understanding through language education.

 

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with IB or other international curricula.
  • Ability to integrate cultural components into language instruction.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and lifelong learning.
