This school is based in Amman, Jordan and is looking for a Arabic Teacher.

Amman French School is seeking a dedicated and experienced Arabic Teacher to join our team. The Arabic Teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in Arabic language and literature to students at various levels. This position offers an exciting opportunity to inspire students to develop proficiency in Arabic language skills, deepen their cultural understanding, and cultivate a love for Arabic literature and heritage.

Responsibilities:
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective lessons in Arabic language and literature, catering to the needs and proficiency levels of students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Teach Arabic language skills, including reading, writing, listening, and speaking, using a communicative approach and a variety of instructional strategies, materials, and technology tools.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum that aligns with the school’s educational objectives, standards, and assessment criteria for Arabic language instruction.
  • Foster students’ linguistic proficiency, cultural competence, and appreciation for Arabic literature, poetry, and heritage through engaging and authentic learning experiences.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued, respected, and motivated to actively participate in Arabic language learning and cultural exploration.
  • Assess student learning and progress through formative and summative assessments, providing timely and constructive feedback to students on their Arabic language proficiency and academic performance.
  • Differentiate instruction and provide additional support or enrichment activities as needed to meet the diverse learning needs and interests of students in Arabic language classes.
  • Incorporate cultural activities, celebrations, and traditions into the curriculum to enhance students’ understanding of Arab culture, history, and identity, fostering cross-cultural awareness and appreciation.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate Arabic language instruction with other subject areas and interdisciplinary projects, promoting cross-curricular connections and holistic learning experiences.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues, providing regular updates on curriculum, assignments, assessments, and student progress, and addressing any concerns or questions in a timely manner.
  • Participate in professional development activities, workshops, and conferences to enhance teaching skills, content knowledge, and pedagogical practices in Arabic language education.
  • Adhere to school policies, procedures, and guidelines for classroom management, behavior expectations, and student safety, promoting a positive and respectful learning environment for all students.

 

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Arabic Language, Arabic Literature, Education, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Teaching certification or qualification in Arabic Language Education.
  • Proven experience teaching Arabic language and literature at the primary or secondary level, with strong knowledge of curriculum development, instructional strategies, and assessment practices.
  • Native or near-native proficiency in Arabic language, with excellent communication skills in both Arabic and English.
  • Passion for Arabic language, literature, and culture, with a commitment to fostering students’ linguistic proficiency, cultural understanding, and appreciation for Arabic heritage.
  • Creativity, flexibility, and adaptability, with the ability to design and implement engaging and interactive lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and interests.
  • Collaborative spirit, teamwork, and professionalism, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, students, parents, and administrators in a multicultural environment.
