Venerable Addis institution founded in 1947 by the Emperor of Ethiopia, governed by an intergovernmental agreement of 1966 between France and Ethiopia, the Lycée Guebre Mariam is an establishment which is on a promising educational dynamic, the projects there are numerous, varied and rich. It is one of the actors of the policy of influence of France alongside the dynamic Ethio-French Alliance and the French Center for Ethiopian Studies (dependent on the CNRS). It is engaged in a policy of social responsibility of organizations (CSR). Particular attention is paid at the Lycée Guebre-Mariam to the reception of new arrivals and their integration and to the quality of life at work of all staff.

Approved by the national education system from the first year to the final year, managed by the French Secular Mission, this Franco-Ethiopian establishment, spearhead of cooperation between the two countries, educates more than 1,800 students, 70% of whom are Ethiopians, in a quality environment.
