Role Overview
As a Music Teacher at BIS, you will design and deliver engaging music lessons that nurture students’ creativity, technical skills, and appreciation for the arts. You will contribute to a dynamic performing arts program, organize musical performances, and inspire students to explore music both as a subject and as a lifelong passion.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver music lessons aligned with IB and Cambridge frameworks
- Develop students’ performance, composition, and music theory skills
- Encourage creativity and critical thinking through music education
- Lead and support school concerts, ensembles, and cultural events
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate music across the curriculum
- Provide clear assessment and feedback to guide student progress
- Promote inclusivity and engagement in all aspects of music learning
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Music or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 3 years’ teaching experience, preferably in international schools
- Strong knowledge of music pedagogy and performance practices
- Familiarity with international curricula, especially IB and IGCSE
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
- Enthusiasm for working in a multicultural school community
- Commitment to professional growth and innovative teaching
