Role Overview
The Music Teacher will deliver high-quality instruction aligned with the National Curriculum for England, covering Primary through Secondary levels. The successful candidate will lead engaging and creative Music lessons that support individual student growth, cultural appreciation, and performance skills. Teaching responsibilities will include preparing students for IGCSE, GCSE, and A-Level Music exams, nurturing both technical and expressive competencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Music to students across various age groups, from Primary to A-Level
- Deliver a robust and well-structured Music curriculum that fosters musical literacy, creativity, and performance
- Plan, prepare, and assess student work according to curriculum standards and individual needs
- Organize and lead school concerts, ensembles, and music-related extracurricular activities
- Integrate music technology into lessons to enhance student engagement
- Collaborate with colleagues to enrich the school’s arts programme
- Maintain strong communication with students and parents about progress and performance
- Contribute to whole-school initiatives and professional learning communities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Music or a closely related field
- Recognized teaching qualification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- At least 3 years of relevant teaching experience
- Expertise in teaching Music under the British curriculum framework
- Experience preparing students for IGCSE, GCSE, and A-Level Music examinations
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to inspire students and adapt to diverse learning needs
- High proficiency in spoken and written English
- A growth mindset and commitment to ongoing professional development
