Music Teacher (Secondary), International School of Dakar, Senegal

This school is based in Dakar, Senegal and is looking for a Music Teacher (Secondary) – Maternity cover

Key Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s degree preferred)
• Knowledge of MYP/DP
• Passionate about teaching students and responsive to their individual needs
• Committed to collaboration and effective communication with students, colleagues and parents
• At least 2 years of experience working with children in a classroom environment (international experience preferred)
• Identifies with ISD’s Guiding Principles and values

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
• Teaches Grade 6-10 MYP Music
• Adheres to all school policies and procedures.
• Delivers curriculum in line with school policies and procedures.
• Works collaboratively with a team, or individually, as directed to prepare and evaluate learning programs.
• Is respectful and supportive of other staff and works in a manner that fosters a positive work environment.
• Shares personal and departmental resources for the benefit of the curriculum
• Participates in professional development
• Participates actively in the professional growth protocol

• Is punctual for classes and school meetings
• Participates in evening and/or weekend school activities each year as assigned and/or is available to coach or sponsor an athletic team or other extra curricular activity.
• Attends grade level or department meetings and participates in faculty meetings and school based professional development activities.
• Participates in the secondary school advisory programme
• Participates in the 4 day annual Service Learning residential trip
• Performs other duties as assigned
