Role Overview: MYP Art Teacher
As an MYP Art Teacher, you will design and deliver a rigorous art curriculum based on the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IB MYP). You will help students explore various media, techniques, and concepts in visual arts, while encouraging critical thinking and self-expression.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging art lessons aligned with IB MYP guidelines
- Foster students’ creativity and technical skills in 2D, 3D, and digital media
- Inspire artistic exploration through student-led inquiry and reflection
- Create opportunities for exhibitions, displays, and interdisciplinary projects
- Assess and document student progress using MYP assessment criteria
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure curriculum coherence
- Contribute to school events, clubs, and extracurricular activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Fine Arts, Art Education, or related field
- Valid teaching license or certification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience, ideally with MYP or international curricula
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written
- Passion for global education and working in a multicultural school setting
- Competency in using technology to support instruction
