Role Overview: MYP/DP English Teacher
The MYP/DP English Teacher will design and deliver engaging English Language and Literature instruction for secondary students. You will foster a learning environment that promotes analytical thinking, strong communication, and intercultural understanding, while preparing students for the demands of the IB assessments and university-level writing.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach English Language and Literature to MYP and DP students
- Plan and implement inquiry-based, differentiated lessons aligned with IB standards
- Use formative and summative assessments to monitor and support student progress
- Collaborate with colleagues to create interdisciplinary units and school-wide initiatives
- Integrate educational technology into teaching practices
- Maintain open communication with students, parents, and staff
- Support school events and contribute to the school’s mission and community culture
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- At least two years of English teaching experience at the secondary level
- Familiarity with IB MYP and DP curriculum frameworks
- Strong classroom management and instructional skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication in English
- Passion for teaching in an international, bilingual school environment
