Role Overview: MYP English/Social Studies Teacher
The MYP English/Social Studies Teacher will deliver engaging, interdisciplinary lessons aligned with the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP). The successful candidate will help students develop communication, analytical, and inquiry-based skills across the humanities.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver integrated English and Social Studies lessons using MYP frameworks
- Promote academic inquiry, global citizenship, and intercultural understanding
- Design lesson plans that encourage student participation and creativity
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
- Collaborate with teaching teams to enhance cross-curricular connections
- Contribute to co-curricular programs, school events, and student advisory roles
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, History, Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years teaching experience in international or bilingual settings
- Experience with the IB MYP curriculum preferred
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- Fluent English proficiency (spoken and written)
- Strong commitment to holistic, student-centered education
- Tech-literate and adaptable in blended learning environments
