Role Overview: MYP English Teacher
As an MYP English Teacher, you will deliver engaging and challenging lessons that align with the IB MYP framework. You will guide students through the development of reading, writing, speaking, and critical analysis skills while promoting a genuine appreciation for literature and global perspectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach MYP English to middle school students using inquiry-based methods
- Plan units that integrate literature, writing, media studies, and interdisciplinary learning
- Assess student learning using IB MYP criteria and provide timely feedback
- Differentiate instruction to meet varied learning needs
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning and IB documentation
- Contribute to co-curricular activities, school events, and student-led initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Literature, Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
- Minimum of two years of teaching experience, ideally within an IB MYP or international context
- Strong knowledge of English language and literature instruction
- Skilled in classroom management and technology integration
- Fluent in English with excellent communication abilities
- Proactive, reflective, and committed to continuous professional development
