Role Overview: MYP English Teacher
As an MYP English Teacher, you will engage students in the Middle Years Programme (MYP) through creative, inquiry-driven English instruction. Your role includes designing interdisciplinary learning experiences, fostering critical thinking, and building students’ communication skills in reading, writing, and oral expression.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver MYP English lessons aligned with IB standards
- Promote a love of literature, writing, and public speaking
- Support students in developing analytical and creative thinking
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learner needs
- Integrate technology to enhance classroom learning
- Collaborate with colleagues across subjects and grade levels
- Maintain clear communication with students and parents
- Contribute to school-wide literacy and community events
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum of two years’ experience teaching English, preferably in an international school setting
- Familiarity with the IB MYP or similar international curricula
- Strong content knowledge and lesson planning skills
- Excellent classroom management and communication abilities
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Self-motivated, collaborative, and committed to lifelong learning
