Role Overview: MYP English Teacher
The MYP English Teacher will deliver engaging, inquiry-based instruction in language and literature to middle school students. You will foster students’ love of reading, writing, and critical analysis while helping them build communication skills essential for academic and personal success.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach English Language and Literature within the IB MYP framework
- Create differentiated lesson plans that support diverse learners
- Promote student-centered learning through discussion, debate, and writing
- Integrate real-world themes and intercultural perspectives into the curriculum
- Use assessment data to guide instruction and support student progress
- Collaborate with colleagues to align cross-curricular learning goals
- Participate in professional development and school-wide initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- At least two years of experience teaching English, preferably in an IB or international school setting
- Strong understanding of the MYP curriculum and its interdisciplinary approach
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- High level of fluency in spoken and written English
- Enthusiasm for working in a multicultural learning environment
- Willingness to innovate and contribute to curriculum enrichment
