Role Overview: MYP English Teacher
As an MYP English Teacher, you will deliver high-quality, student-centered instruction that aligns with the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP). You will engage students in critical thinking, analytical writing, and global literature while nurturing communication and creativity.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging English lessons aligned with the MYP framework
- Develop students’ reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills through varied instruction
- Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and participation
- Assess and monitor student progress using formative and summative methods
- Collaborate with colleagues across departments to integrate cross-curricular learning
- Participate in school events, professional development, and extracurricular activities
- Encourage students to reflect on learning and develop their personal voice
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- At least 2 years of English teaching experience, ideally in an international or bilingual school
- Strong knowledge of the IB MYP curriculum preferred
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- Passion for international education and working with diverse student populations
- Proficiency in using educational technology to enhance instruction
- Collaborative, self-motivated, and growth-oriented
