Role Overview: MYP English Teacher
As an MYP English Teacher, you will deliver engaging and thought-provoking English language and literature lessons aligned with the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP). You will encourage students to think analytically, develop communication skills, and explore diverse texts that reflect global perspectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement MYP English lessons that meet academic standards
- Foster critical reading, writing, and discussion skills
- Guide students in literary analysis and creative expression
- Use assessment data to inform instruction and personalize learning
- Collaborate with colleagues to align interdisciplinary planning
- Engage in school events, student mentoring, and co-curricular programs
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Education, or a related field
- Recognized teaching certification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant teaching experience
- Experience with IB MYP preferred
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Strong commitment to professional development and international education
