MYP Math Teacher – Overseas Chinese Academy of Chiway Suzhou

About OCAC Suzhou
Founded in 2017, OCAC Suzhou is a private K–12 international school located in Suzhou, China. Established by Chiway Education Group in collaboration with Suzhou Industrial Park Development Co., the school was designed to meet the needs of returning Chinese families and to deliver an innovative bilingual education. OCAC combines the Chinese national curriculum with international best practices, including the International Baccalaureate (IB) framework and select elements of American educational models.

Role Overview: MYP Math Teacher
As an MYP Math Teacher, you will teach mathematics to students in the Middle Years Programme (MYP). Your role will include developing inquiry-based lessons, fostering problem-solving skills, and guiding students in developing a deep understanding of mathematical concepts. You will collaborate with colleagues to support interdisciplinary learning and contribute to school-wide initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging math lessons aligned with IB MYP standards
- Use a variety of teaching strategies to support diverse learners
- Integrate technology into math instruction to enhance learning outcomes
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
- Collaborate with subject and grade-level teams
- Support student growth through inquiry, reflection, and creativity
- Build strong relationships with students, parents, and staff
- Participate in school events and enrichment programs
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching license or equivalent certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE)
- At least two years of teaching experience in mathematics
- Familiarity with the IB MYP or other international curricula
- Solid knowledge of middle school math concepts and pedagogy
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- High level of English proficiency (spoken and written)
- Passion for student-centered teaching and learning
- Commitment to continuous professional development
