Founded in 2017, OCAC Suzhou is a private international K–12 school located in Suzhou, China. The school was established by Chiway Education Group in partnership with Suzhou Industrial Park Development Co. to serve returning Chinese families and deliver a world-class bilingual education. Role Overview: MYP Music Teacher
As an MYP Music Teacher, you will teach students in the Middle Years Programme (MYP), guiding them through a comprehensive music curriculum that fosters creativity, performance, and appreciation of diverse musical styles. Your role will involve planning engaging lessons, assessing student progress, and encouraging artistic growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver MYP music lessons aligned with IB standards
- Plan performances, workshops, and student showcases
- Promote creativity, collaboration, and inquiry through music
- Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines
- Use technology to enhance musical instruction and student engagement
- Build strong relationships with students and parents
- Contribute to school events, concerts, and the arts program
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Music Education or a related field
- Valid teaching license or equivalent certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE)
- Minimum two years of teaching experience in a music or performing arts role
- Familiarity with the IB MYP or other international programs
- Strong knowledge of music theory, performance, and composition
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written)
- A proactive and student-centered teaching approach
- Commitment to professional development and innovation in music education
