Role Overview: MYP Performing Arts Teacher
As an MYP Performing Arts Teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons in theater, music, and other performing arts disciplines. You will foster students’ confidence, creativity, and collaboration skills through project-based learning and performances.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and teach MYP Performing Arts classes aligned with IB standards
- Design creative units incorporating drama, movement, and music
- Organize and direct student performances and school productions
- Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary units and events
- Create a classroom environment that encourages student expression
- Use digital tools to support instruction and performance feedback
- Contribute to school life by participating in co-curricular activities and performances
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Performing Arts, Drama, Music, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching performing arts, ideally in an international or MYP setting
- Strong understanding of the IB MYP framework and inquiry-based instruction
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written)
- Commitment to continuous professional development and cultural competence
- Passion for the arts and student-centered learning
