Role Overview: MYP Science Teacher
As the MYP Science Teacher, you will develop and deliver lessons aligned with the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) framework. Your teaching will cover foundational topics in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, helping students explore scientific concepts through inquiry, experimentation, and problem-solving. You will support student development both academically and personally, and collaborate with colleagues to enhance cross-disciplinary learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach integrated science across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics to MYP students
- Design engaging, inquiry-based lesson plans following the MYP curriculum
- Promote scientific thinking, collaboration, and curiosity in the classroom
- Assess and track student progress, offering feedback and guidance
- Participate in school initiatives, events, and professional development opportunities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Science or a related discipline
- Valid teaching certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- At least 2 years of experience teaching science at the middle or secondary level
- Familiarity with the MYP or IB framework preferred
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Collaborative, student-focused, and committed to continual improvement
