Role Overview: MYP Science Teacher
As a MYP Science Teacher, you will teach general science across middle school year groups using the IB MYP framework. You will design and deliver lessons that encourage inquiry, experimentation, and real-world application. The ideal candidate will bring creativity to curriculum delivery while aligning instruction with MYP assessment objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging science lessons that support inquiry-based learning
- Develop interdisciplinary units with other MYP subject teachers
- Assess student progress using MYP criteria and provide timely feedback
- Foster a classroom environment that promotes collaboration and curiosity
- Guide students through scientific investigations and lab-based activities
- Contribute to extracurricular programmes, clubs, and school events
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field
- Recognized teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE, or international equivalent)
- Minimum two years of teaching experience, preferably within an IB or international school setting
- Deep understanding of the IB MYP Science framework and assessment standards
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Technologically literate with a creative approach to learning
- Motivated, reflective, and eager to participate in continuous professional development
