Role Overview: MYP Science Teacher
As an MYP Science Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and concept-driven science instruction within the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP). Your role will support students in developing scientific literacy, research skills, and a deeper understanding of the world through hands-on experimentation and inquiry-based learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver science lessons aligned with the IB MYP framework
- Encourage inquiry, collaboration, and critical thinking in the classroom
- Support student growth through formative and summative assessments
- Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary units and curriculum planning
- Integrate digital tools and resources to enhance instruction
- Communicate regularly with parents and contribute to the broader school community
- Participate in ongoing professional development and school events
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Science, Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching license or certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- At least 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in a middle years or international school setting
- Familiarity with the IB MYP or similar international curricula
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- High proficiency in written and spoken English
- A collaborative, reflective, and student-centered approach to teaching
- Confidence in using educational technology to enhance learning
