Role Overview: MYP Science Teacher

The MYP Science Teacher will design and deliver dynamic science lessons that align with the IB MYP curriculum. This role involves teaching scientific concepts through experimentation, collaboration, and inquiry, encouraging students to think critically and connect their learning to real-world issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach MYP Science to middle school students in an engaging and student-centered environment
• Develop and implement unit plans that align with the IB MYP framework
• Foster a classroom culture that values scientific inquiry, collaboration, and ethical thinking
• Assess student learning through varied formative and summative assessments
• Use technology to enhance instruction and learning outcomes
• Collaborate with other teachers to support interdisciplinary learning
• Participate in ongoing professional development and school initiatives

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Science or Science Education
• Valid teaching certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience teaching science, preferably in an international or IB setting
• Familiarity with the IB MYP curriculum
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills
• A proactive, reflective, and collaborative approach to teaching
• Strong command of spoken and written English
• Passion for working with a diverse and globally-minded student community
