Role Overview: MYP Science Teacher
As an MYP Science Teacher, you will teach students using the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IB MYP) framework. You will create engaging, hands-on science lessons that promote scientific inquiry, creativity, and collaboration. Your instruction will help students build a solid foundation in biology, chemistry, and physics.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver student-centered science lessons aligned with the IB MYP framework
- Promote scientific literacy, curiosity, and independent thinking
- Design assessments that support learning objectives and monitor progress
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan interdisciplinary units
- Integrate technology and lab activities to enhance learning
- Support school-wide events and contribute to extracurricular activities
- Engage in ongoing professional development and curriculum enhancement
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Science, Education, or a related field
- Teaching certification (PGCE, QTS, or international equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years of science teaching experience, preferably in an IB setting
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Experience working in an international school community is a plus
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
- Ability to integrate technology and innovative strategies into instruction
