This school is based in Cape Town, South Africa and is looking for a Substitute Teacher.

The International School of Cape Town (ISCT) is dedicated to providing an enriching and supportive learning environment for students. We are seeking qualified and experienced teachers, as well as those in their final year of studying towards a teaching degree, to join our pool of substitute teachers and teaching assistants.

Position Overview: We are always looking to add dedicated and passionate individuals to our substitute teacher and teaching assistant list. If you reside in Cape Town and are interested in teaching on an ad-hoc basis, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver lesson plans and instructional materials prepared by the regular teacher.
  • Manage classroom behavior to ensure an environment conducive to learning.
  • Follow and adhere to school policies, procedures, and schedules.
  • Adapt to various teaching environments and age groups as needed.
  • Provide support and assistance to students in the absence of the regular teacher.
  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents as required.
  • Maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment.

 

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Qualified and experienced teacher or in the final year of studying towards a teaching degree.
  • Current SACE (South African Council for Educators) certification.
  • Experience in classroom management and instruction.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to different teaching environments and grade levels.
