Role Overview

The ideal candidate is a motivated and experienced individual to fill the role of Physical Education Teacher. This specialist position demands a dedicated educator who can effectively design, manage, and deliver engaging, high-standard instruction.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and teach high-quality, rigorous PE units for assigned Primary and Secondary years. Align instruction strictly with the Cambridge Curriculum framework and CISM’s standards for physical education and health.
• Develop and execute strategies that promote technical skill acquisition, physical fitness, rules knowledge, and strategic understanding across a range of individual and team sports.
• Lead and manage an exciting and inclusive Extracurricular Activities (ECA) sports program (e.g., training teams, coordinating fixtures, coaching various sports).
• Assess student learning consistently using formative and summative tools for both practical performance and theoretical knowledge (especially at the Secondary level). Provide timely, constructive feedback to drive measurable improvement.
• Collaborate consistently with colleagues across both Primary and Secondary sections on curriculum mapping, resource management, and planning whole-school sporting events (e.g., Sports Day).
• Maintain a positive, highly organized, and professional learning environment on the field and in the gymnasium, ensuring the safety and appropriate use of all equipment.
• Be independent, self-motivated, and proactive in enriching the curriculum and developing wider school initiatives, enhancing the school’s holistic focus.
• Ability to use new technologies to enhance the quality of teaching and learning for all students.

Qualifications

• Education: Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a closely related field.
• Certification: Possess a valid teaching license or official certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent) specifically for teaching Physical Education.
• Experience: Demonstrate a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience teaching PE across Primary and Secondary age ranges, with significant, verified experience teaching the Cambridge curriculum (or UK equivalent) being mandatory.
• Curriculum Knowledge: Show strong, demonstrated knowledge of international PE syllabi (especially IGCSE/A-Level) and proficiency in coaching multiple team sports.
• Skills: Maintain excellent classroom/field management and superb communication and collaboration skills.
• Language: Be highly proficient in spoken and written English.
