Role Overview: Physical Education Teacher
The Physical Education Teacher will design and lead engaging lessons focused on physical fitness, team sports, motor skills development, and health education. This role emphasizes personal growth, inclusion, and the development of lifelong healthy habits. You will inspire students to value physical activity, teamwork, and perseverance.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and teach PE lessons aligned with American and IB PYP frameworks
- Promote physical literacy, cooperation, and positive competition
- Organize school sports days, inter-class tournaments, and athletic clubs
- Assess student progress using formative and summative tools
- Encourage leadership, resilience, and goal-setting among students
- Collaborate with faculty on interdisciplinary learning experiences
- Ensure safe and inclusive participation in all physical activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or related field
- Valid teaching certification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or international equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a PE teaching role
- Familiarity with IB PYP and inquiry-based teaching approaches preferred
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Fluency in spoken and written English
- Passion for promoting student wellness and personal development
- Ability to incorporate fitness technology and tools into instruction
