Role Overview: Physical Education Teacher
As a Physical Education Teacher at SSIS, you will design and implement engaging PE lessons that encourage physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship. You will motivate students to develop healthy habits and a lifelong appreciation for physical activity. Your role includes managing diverse student needs, promoting safe sports practices, and collaborating with staff to organize extracurricular sports events and activities. Using modern teaching tools and technology will enhance your instruction and student engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver physical education lessons aligned with the Singapore-UK curriculum
- Foster a positive, inclusive environment that encourages participation and teamwork
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to support development
- Promote physical health, wellness, and active lifestyles among students
- Organize and support school sports events, competitions, and extracurricular activities
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate physical education with wider school initiatives
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to encourage involvement and understanding
- Utilize technology to enhance lesson delivery and student learning experiences
- Participate actively in professional development and school community activities
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or related field
- Valid teaching certification or license such as QTS, PGCE, or equivalent international qualification
- Minimum of two years’ experience teaching physical education or related roles
- Strong knowledge of physical education principles and effective classroom management skills
- Enthusiastic about working in a multicultural, international school environment
- Proficient in spoken and written English with excellent communication skills
- Independent, self-motivated, and proactive in curriculum development and school initiatives
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents
