This school is based in Geneva, Switzerland and is looking for a Gymnastics Teacher – Extracurricular.

Main Purpose of the Role: We are seeking a passionate and experienced Gymnastics Coach to join our extracurricular program at Collège du Léman. The coach will be responsible for leading and instructing gymnastics classes for different age groups, focusing on the discovery and development of gymnastic skills. The ideal candidate will engage young students with fun, educational, and safe gymnastics activities, preparing them for potential participation in internal and external competitions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Gymnastics ABC (PS2-PS3) – Discovery Class:
    • Description: Introduce young children to floor and apparatus gymnastics through fun courses and material discoveries.
    • Objectives: Develop psychomotricity, coordination, and a love for gymnastics.
    • Activities: Balance, suspension, rotations, and other basic gymnastic movements presented in a playful manner.
  • Artistic Gymnastics (Gr1-3) – Artistic Gymnastics:
    • Description: Initiate students to gymnastics with fun circuits and introduce them to floor and apparatus movements.
    • Objectives: Enhance coordination, motor skills, flexibility, agility, and physical reinforcement.
    • Activities: Rotations, acrobatic approaches, jumps, suspension, and support movements.
  • Acrobatic Gymnastics (Gr4-5) – Acrobatic Gymnastics:
    • Description: Teach apparatus, floor, and acrobatic gymnastics, including mini-trampoline work and specific exercises.
    • Objectives: Improve coordination, courage, basic acrobatic skills, and sequences of gymnastic elements.
    • Activities: General circuits, specific exercises, and skill evolution circuits. Prepare students for participation in internal and external competitions.

 

Skills and Competencies:
  • Certified gymnastics coach with relevant experience in teaching gymnastics to children.
  • Strong understanding of gymnastic techniques and safety protocols.
  • Ability to design age-appropriate gymnastic activities that are both fun and educational.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with children and parents.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive and supportive learning environment.

 

Preferred Skills:
  • Previous experience in preparing students for competitions.
  • First aid and CPR certification.
  • Bilingual (English and French) is a plus.
