This school is based in Malindi, Kenya and is looking for a Male Physical Education Teacher. 

Overall Purpose of the Job:

Light International School Malindi is seeking dedicated Male Physical Education (PE) Teachers with IGCSE teaching experience to join our dynamic team. The PE teacher will be responsible for maximizing the academic progress of students by promoting a positive, purposeful, and professional working atmosphere. The role involves planning and delivering well-structured lessons, supervising practical PE sessions, motivating students to engage in sports, and preparing them for exams and competitions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Plan and prepare well-structured, clearly presented lessons suitable for all students and the syllabus being taught.
• Supervise practical PE lessons, including both indoor and outdoor classes.
• Ensure that learners compete at their ability level and are not exposed to unnecessary injury or illness through school sports.
• Motivate learners to take up new sports or athletic pursuits.
• Evaluate the performance of students throughout the school year.
• Attend parents’ evenings and provide parents with comprehensive reports on their child’s progress.
• Train and coach school sports teams to compete in nation-wide events.
• Coordinate transport for individual competitors and school teams to sporting events.
• Ensure students are prepared for their practical and theoretical PE exams.

Requirements:

• Teaching experience in the IGCSE curriculum.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively engage with students.
• Capacity to work effectively under pressure.
• Must be registered by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
