Head of Faculty – PE, Northfields International School, Mauritius

This school is based in Mapou, Mauritius and is looking for a Head of Faculty – PE

Northfields International School is seeking to fill the Head of Faculty – Physical & Health Education.

The selected candidate is expected to ensure the provision of an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for pupils studying in the faculty, in accordance with the aims of the school and the curricular policies determined by SSLT, SMT and Board of Directors by
− monitoring and analysing pupil progress and raising standards of pupil attainment and achievement across the faculty subject areas;
− monitoring the work/performance, providing support and direction, and leading the process of appraisal and continuous development of each member of the faculty;
− being accountable for leading, managing and developing all subjects within the faculty curriculum area;
− effectively managing and deploying teaching/support staff, financial and physical resources within the faculty to support the aims of the school.

The successful candidate should meet the criteria as outlined below:

EDUCATION
Either
• University degree (Bachelor’s degree or higher) in subject area
• Post Graduate Certificate of Education (or equivalent)
or
• B.Ed. in subject area
• School Certificate of Education
• Higher School Certificate of Education

EXPERIENCE
• Experience in teaching IGCSE / IB MYP/ IB DP
• Successful working relationships with students, staff and parents
• Experience in cross curricular initiatives / projects
• Experience of monitoring classroom performance across subjects

SKILLS
• Demonstration of in-depth subject and curriculum knowledge
• Consistently plan and deliver structured lessons that enable all learners to progress academically
• Effective leadership, communication, interpersonal and collaborative skills
• Proficient ICT skills
