Role Overview: Physics Teacher (Cambridge IGCSE)
As a Physics Teacher, you will teach core science and advanced physics to middle and high school students. You will deliver lessons that develop students’ analytical thinking, experimental skills, and understanding of physical principles. Your role includes curriculum planning, classroom instruction, assessment design, and active participation in school initiatives that promote STEM engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and teach engaging Physics lessons aligned with the Cambridge IGCSE syllabus
- Design practical lab sessions and assessments that promote inquiry-based learning
- Use data to track student progress and adapt instruction accordingly
- Collaborate with science colleagues on interdisciplinary projects and curriculum development
- Support school events, science fairs, and extracurricular STEM activities
- Maintain a classroom culture of curiosity, respect, and active participation
- Communicate regularly with parents, students, and team members
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physics, Science Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching credential (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant teaching experience, preferably in an international or IGCSE setting
- Familiarity with the Cambridge curriculum is highly preferred
- Strong subject knowledge and excellent communication skills
- Confidence in using educational technology to enhance learning
- A proactive, student-centered teaching approach
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to school-wide initiatives and team collaboration
