This school is based in Geneva, Switzerland and is looking for a Professor of Physics Chemistry.

Main Objectives of the Position: We are seeking a full-time Physics-Chemistry Teacher to join our French-speaking secondary department from the start of the 2024 school year. The successful candidate will possess team spirit and join a dynamic department within a motivating international setting. They will be enthusiastic and qualified to teach at various levels, capable of motivating students regardless of their proficiency, and will collaborate closely with colleagues to promote science education and prepare students for success in official exams (French Baccalaureate, Swiss Maturity).

Main Responsibilities:
  • Promote the school’s mission and vision by helping students discover and develop their individual strengths, build strong international connections, and become the best version of themselves.
  • Create a caring and inclusive learning environment where students can thrive, prioritizing their health and well-being.
  • Embody and promote the RISE values of Collège du Léman.
  • Engage and motivate students of all levels.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure all lessons are aligned.
  • Evaluate students according to school guidelines and enter grades into the online gradebook.
  • Write school reports in accordance with guidelines and meet deadlines.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

 

Required Skills and Abilities:
Qualifications:
  • University degree in teaching Physics-Chemistry (Bachelor minimum, CAPES, Educational studies validated by the DIP, and Doctorate preferred).
  • Teaching qualification.
  • Ability to use and integrate ICT into the curriculum.

 

Knowledge and Skills:
  • Excellent rapport with students, fostering a collaborative learning environment.
  • Strong organizational and adaptation skills to handle the varied challenges of the educational environment.
  • Clear communication skills, interacting openly with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Ability to work effectively with a team of dedicated colleagues, contributing to a harmonious environment while meeting deadlines for educational planning.

 

Experience:
  • Experience teaching French Baccalaureate and/or Swiss Maturité exam classes.
  • Previous experience in an international school is an asset.
