Role Overview: Primary Art Teacher
As the Primary Art Teacher, you will design and deliver engaging art lessons to students in Key Stages 1 and 2. You will encourage creativity, critical thinking, and cultural awareness through hands-on projects and visual exploration. The ideal candidate brings both technical skill and a passion for visual arts education.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach age-appropriate art classes that build foundational skills and creative confidence
- Plan lessons that incorporate diverse media, techniques, and cultural perspectives
- Create a supportive and inspiring classroom environment
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
- Organize student exhibitions and participate in school-wide art events
- Collaborate with other teachers on cross-curricular initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Art, Art Education, or a related field
- Teaching certification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching art, preferably in an international or bilingual setting
- Familiarity with international curricula such as IB PYP or Cambridge Primary
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
