Role Overview: Primary Art Teacher
As a Primary Art Teacher, you will cultivate students’ creativity, confidence, and appreciation for art. You will design and implement engaging lessons that explore various artistic techniques, art history, and visual storytelling.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver creative and age-appropriate art lessons that meet British and international curriculum standards
- Foster a classroom environment that encourages self-expression, critical thinking, and artistic risk-taking
- Guide students through hands-on projects in drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media
- Collaborate with other teachers to integrate art into interdisciplinary units
- Curate student artwork for exhibitions and school events
- Support school-wide initiatives in visual and performing arts
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback that promotes growth and improvement
- Maintain an organized, inclusive, and safe art studio space
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Fine Arts, Art Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching license or certification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
- At least 2 years of experience teaching art in a primary or international school setting
- Strong knowledge of international and British art education frameworks
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Passion for fostering creativity in young learners
- Ability to adapt and innovate to meet students’ diverse needs
- Familiarity with digital art tools and technology is a plus
