Role Overview: Primary English Teacher
As the Primary English Teacher, you will deliver high-quality English language instruction to students in Key Stages 1 and 2. Your lessons will build foundational literacy skills while promoting curiosity, confidence, and communication in a multicultural classroom.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach English reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills to primary students
- Develop engaging lesson plans that meet curriculum standards and individual needs
- Monitor and assess student progress through formative and summative assessments
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment
- Collaborate with colleagues to support cross-curricular projects and school-wide initiatives
- Participate in staff meetings, parent conferences, and extracurricular activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in primary education, ideally in an international school
- Familiarity with international curricula such as Cambridge Primary or IB PYP
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- High proficiency in spoken and written English
- Motivated, independent, and proactive in curriculum development
- Ability to integrate technology into teaching and learning
